Get ready for A/C Season!

Don’t wait for the first hot day to find out if your air conditioner works.  Make a few simple checks to be ready for summer:

  1. Change the filter  –  the single most effective thing you can do for the health of your house and your system.
  2. Clean and clear your outside unit – have shrubs grown around it, leaves piled against it, dirt caked around it, sticks and leaves fallen into it?  Make sure your unit can breathe!
  3. Turn the system on – Do this on a reasonably warm day (above 60) just long enough to see if all components do run.  Keep in mind many units have a timer that will delay the start a few minutes.
  4. Check your drains – Not all systems have a test port to clean and run water through, but this step can avoid aggravation later.

Hopefully you will be ready for the season.  If not, or if you would like to get a thorough system checkup CALL US at (703)549-5700
